We use this site as a place to help us gather information for the purchase of used or second notebook,
so we are here to Contribute what we could do after making a purchase a new notebook Acer 2012.
 Notebook 2012 with ATI Radeon 9700 64MB and DVD + /-RW.

serenity FAN:
it is almost inaudible when a fan tried to shut down. could hardly hear a working hard drive,
unless you work focuses hear that instrument,
If you have a computer running for more than an hour or more fan fan will sometimes kick in,
loading DVD begins with "the hum of the round", but not too bad to walk.
This may be equivalent to other notebooks dvds.
I can not imagine the 15.4 "notebook that is more quiet than this one.

Build:
We saw very little flex in the entire machine. This looks and feels very sturdy. No part of the machine that we thought it looked cheap, or feel there is a possibility that it may rupture.
casing made of plastic instead of aluminum such as 2025, but it looks sharp with the outside silver casing.

Appearance:
This is our favorite notebook in appearance. silver accents and lid are combined with black notebook looks fantastic.
There are lots of cool lights and buttons also add a bit of talent machine.

Trackpad and buttons:
Button pad is a bit stiff like a call, but it does not mean anything. For general purpose use such as web surfing is a non-issue. For intense game, it "might" be a problem. trackpad works perfectly, and coupled with 4-button scroll,
We would prefer over the other trackpads with scroll area on the trackpad. No trackpad button to turn it, but we've never had an accident typing because the trackpad.

Keyboard:
slightly higher position, and require more than a touch of the button, but it works well. No problems with the "ii" "in" or whatever this problem with the model of the Acer 2000. The keyboard feels like it will last. This is my first notebook so it is very difficult for me to compare the feel of the keyboard to other people.

Screen:

The screen is very sharp and bright. The 15.4 WXGA provide more horizontal space than I would have thought. While the screen is not as good as fujitsu crystal clear, I think it's better than everything else we've seen (all the other major models) with the exception of the XBRITE and toshibas if you do not mind the glare from them. We personally do not mind te glare, so we'll take XBRITE screen over this, but I'm still very happy with the screen.

Heat:
Another great thing about this notebook is that your palms are located NEVER be warm. They may not stay cold like plastic would, but they do not get a good warm. we will say that your palm rests to go after the use of several ambient temp. All the other laptops I tried had palm lies that will be warm to some degree - this one is not!

This is the only laptop we use in our lap, so we can not be compared with others, so take this with a grain of salt, but can become uncomfortable on your lap under certain conditions. If it's warm, and you have been using it for a while on your lap, we started to get annoyed with it, especially if we have pants. It's not that painful heat, it's just uncomfortable feeling, like maybe if you're a little warm because you still have yuor socks during warm nights. Same thing.

Performance:
Do not do the test, so I can not say much, except that the boot faster than 1.7 my Athlon desktop that will soon enter the scrap heap. I do not have a crash or accident within a few weeks I have now had it.

Included Software: Comes with XP Pro license versions including cd-rom. Have some software for dvds and music, but we use our own. Not too much to feel good.

Sound:
The speakers are very good for laptops. we will compare it to HP with the Bose. They can get a relatively hard to spekaers laptop. Our only complaint is that at the minimum setting when using the keyboard controls, it is not quite minimal - it is really in 2 steps. For example, when using the media jukebox, if we use the keyboard controls for volume and set it to single click on the top off, the volume is at the level equivalent to 2 clicks on the volume of media jukebox. When we want music or voice are in the lowest before actually being off, I need to get into the program itself to adjust the volume. Not sure if other notebooks are like this too.

Another thing is that unlike most laptops with separate audio controls, this one uses the arrow keys on the bottom right of the keyboard combined with a function key to turn the volume up and down. Left and right are for display brightness, and up and down is for volume. They are even marked with a blue to tell you the function. we think this design works very well and I would have preferred to separate buttons you might accidentally press. All the main functions that involve the use of the "Fn" key is labeled on its own: mute, screen off, hibernate, etc..

Wireless connections:
we've read that Acer had previously been problems connecting to a wireless network at the time, 2012 is not. I've never lost the connection, and signal strength is usually very good with 54 MBps full. There is a beautiful orange button that flashes on the right front of the notebook when lan lights. You can disable it by pressing it. we have been deliberately disabled.

Battery:
Not yet tested completely out, but the reviews are very useful for battery life.

Did I miss something? Hope this helps a buyer or two come to a decision. Overall, we are very pleased with our purchase and we would highly recommend this laptop. If you want a WXGA with a great video card, we think this is the best laptop out there for someone who wanted to be completely mobile (read: relatively mild [6.6 pounds] and long battery life [3-5hrs]) laptop
